Harnessing evidence in public policy development are examined as it relates to influencing and shaping policy in health care. Ethical standards and guidelines, legal, political and regulatory issues, and fiscal management are analyzed and applied to policy development within organizations and contemporary practice environments. Strategies for creating change through the lens of nursing theory and research as advanced practice leaders, public advocates, and taking action to mitigate social health care challenges across populations.
