This course provides an in-depth study of object oriented design (OOD) and advanced Java topics using an integrated development environment (IDE). This course presents and applies a "best practices" approach to: exception handling, Java database connectivity (JDBC), multithreading and synchronization, networking, serialization and marshalling, remote method invocation (RMI), graphical user interface (GUI) development using Swing, Enterprise JavaBeans, and server-side programming with servlets and JavaServer pages. Students should possess a strong fundamental knowledge of object oriented design and Java.
