This course introduces students to the knowledge and skills required to strategically manage the rapidly changing internal and external environment of health care organizations. The course offers a comparative, global perspective on how the United States and other countries address issues of health and health care. The course will explore managerial implications of emerging issues in health care such as public reporting, pay for performance, information technology, retail medicine, ethics, and medical tourism. Prerequisite: BADM 249 or permission of the instructor
