This is an introductory course in probability and statistics for undergraduate students in engineering and applied sciences. It prepares the students to apply probability theory and statistical methods to solve engineering problems. Basic probability concepts including discrete, continuous, and multivariate probability distributions are covered. Also, the fundamentals of descriptive and inferential statistics are discussed.
Prerequisites:
Engineering or Computer Science Majors Only. Students are not eligible to enroll in EAS 305 if they have already completed or are enrolled in CE 305, CIE 308, or EE 305.
Corequisites:
MTH 241 or MTH 251.
