Introduction to basic quantitative methods in Anthropology. In the past 30 years, quantitative methods have taken an increasingly important role in some fields of anthropology, especially in evaluations of field research. This course enables students to employ standard quantitative methods in their own research and to understand the numerous writings in which such methods are applied. Puts the focus on the basics and the ability to handle simple methods creatively. Understanding of Microsoft Excel is helpful, but not necessary.
