Take your class online with SUNY
You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
This course is designed to prepare students who have finished intermediate Chinese for advanced-level Chinese language study. It focuses on increasing literacy while promoting oral proficiency. Through real-life topics ranging from everyday life to cultural and social issues, students will progressively expand their vocabulary, master more complex grammar patterns, and gain an understanding of some unique language features, such as foundational principles for transitioning from the informal to the formal register. With reading and writing exercises that develop the ability to create cohesive, detailed narratives, students will enhance their narrative and descriptive skills. By the end of this course, students will complete the transition from intermediate proficiency level to advanced level.
