Take your class online with SUNY
You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
In many situations, you will find that the outcome doesn’t just depend on what you choose to do; it also depends on the choices of others. You need to anticipate their actions and react accordingly, keeping in mind that they are also trying to deduce what you are
going to do. The stakes can be as small as beating your friends at a board game or as large as millions of dollars in profits when large firms are competing with each other. Game theory provides us with tools to analyze these scenarios. Our main tool will be finding Nash equilibria, though we will also discuss other methods. By the end of this course, you should be better equipped to think strategically. Format: Grading depends on participation, problem sets, one midterm exam, and a comprehensive final exam.
