You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
The course is an introductory-level course in formal logic. No prior experience in logic or mathematical concepts is required. Formal logic focuses on the logical validity of a deductive argument. We replace specific expressions, as in our everyday lives, with abstract logical symbols and examine whether the conclusions we derive from the premises are solely based on the structure of the arguments. Most of the work we do in this class is to construct proofs within propositional and predicate logical systems; you will find it mathematically similar as you will be responsible for using rules of inference to arrive at the conclusion with a given premise. You will find yourself, hopefully, better at reason and examine the validity of arguments, either for theories or for everyday life.
