Take your class online with SUNY
You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
This class is a critical examination of the web of relationships between economic, political, cultural, and legal institutions. We will explore the historical developments leading to contemporary free-market capitalism and discuss where we can go from here. There are two main questions we will reflect on: (1) Is economic justice something we are supposed to achieve? (2) If so, how can we achieve it? The debates we will have a look at include, but are not limited to, deregulation, universal basic income, welfare, socialism.
