This course focuses on criminal justice agencies’ social media presences and the messages they transmit online. The class proceeds in three phases, including an initial focus on the social science research concerning criminal justice social media, followed by designing and carrying out a small content analysis project involving a real police department, and ending by creating a fictional criminal justice department’s social media account.
