ASL 203 is the first semester of the second year of American Sign Language (ASL) instruction. The course aims to build upon the knowledge and skills gained in ASL 112 and continue to expose students to the language, literature, culture, and community of people who use ASL. It offers students opportunities to enhance their comprehension and construction skills through extended content-specific conversations and interactive activities using more complex ASL vocabulary, classifiers, phrases, grammatical structures, and non-manual markers for various purposes in various contexts. Students will increase fluency and accuracy in fingerspelling and numerical skills in ASL.
Prerequisites:
ASL 102 or ASL 112 with a grade of C or better.
