Take your class online with SUNY
You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
The purpose of the course is to support students in deepening their knowledge of the world language learning process from both theoretical and practical standpoints. Participants will examine their current practices and beliefs, share their experiences and personal theories with others, expand their repertoire of instructional methods and techniques, and reflect on the effectiveness of new approaches. Theory and research studies on second language learning will be discussed on a regular basis and the action research cycle will form the core of teachers' inquiry work. Topics will include but are not limited to: meeting State and National Standards for world languages other than English, shaping classroom discourse, developing and evaluating instructional materials, assessing language proficiency, integrating technology into language teaching, and identifying resources for improving teaching practice.
