This course examines detailed mechanical design of functional, pragmatic products, including topics in computer-aided-design (CAD), finite element analysis (FEA), and geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T). The lab portion of the course will focus on learning CAE software for modeling, analysis, and documentation.
Prerequisites:
MAE 177 or CIE 177 or EAS 999TR177; Mechanical/Aerospace or Engineering Science Majors only.
Corequisites:
EAS 209 or MAE 278.
