An examination of the early origins and development of the Thirteen English Colonies to the early years of the Republic. Discussion includes the geography, climate, and resources of North America, and how these factors contributed to the development of the three distinctive colonial regions. Migration to the English colonies, and how immigration shaped their development will be covered. A major focus will be the beginnings of America, including the origins and motives of slavery as well as the causes and effects of the American Revolution.
