This course will give an in-depth look at a particular period or genre of African American literature. Topics are offered on a rotating basis. They include African American Literature 1860-1920; African American Women Writers since the Harlem Renaissance; the "Social Realist" School (for example, Wright, Petry, Killens, Himes), and others. (Offered periodically)
