Cambridge Interdisciplinary Studies is an advanced course consisting of intensive study with Cambridge University professors and pre-and-post conferences with a WCC instructor. At Cambridge, students attend three seminars per day in the interdisciplinary Programme, and morning plenary and evening lectures. All work is graded by the WCC instructor. Students receive a Certificate of Completion from Cambridge University and 3 credits from WCC.
Note Addt'l requirements: Admission to the Honors Program/Honors College; acceptance by the Cambridge Summer Study Abroad Program Selection Committee. In addition to academic excellence, candidates are expected to demonstrate maturity, independence and proper decorum. Attendance at monthly Junior Common meetings during the spring preceding the summer trip; individual and/or group conferences with the WCC instructor for preparation and assessment.
ALSO:
Embedded within the course is a required two-week study abroad. Students must make all the necessary preparations for a trip overseas (get a passport, get an International Student ID, secure airport transportation in the USA).Students will be advised to select seminars that have a common theme or discipline when taking this course. Students will be advised that the course is an elective selection
and may transfer as elective credit only to another educational institution. If the student s transferring to another college/university, they should check with their destination school to determine how the credits will be applied upon transfer.
