The topic of quality has taken more and more of a critical nature for manufacturing systems. Course has two components. The first is a practical application of the concepts of quality, including the design and execution of experiments in a real setting. The second is the analysis and study of future issues in the field of quality, such as the development of loss equations, cost of high quality, and people and high quality. Prerequisite: SSIE 561 and SSIE 566 or a general design of experiments course. Offered in the Fall semester. 3 cred
