What are the ethical considerations of digital art and design? Artists and designers produce innovative works using digital media and virtual technologies, pushing boundaries in new and unexpected ways. As digital tools evolve, generative artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming artistic creation and design, unlocking new possibilities while challenging ideas of authorship, authenticity, and manipulation. In a digital world, it is easier than ever to alter representations of reality and publish AI-generated or digitally manipulated content. While digital tools empower individuals to produce and share their own creative work, how do we verify the trustworthiness of this content? What are the ethical responsibilities of artists and designers in shaping digital culture? By analyzing the relationship between artistic theory and practice, we will explore how digital media challenges ideas of originality, ownership, and perception. This exploration will include discussions on generative AI and its impact on artistic integrity and social perception, as well as ethical considerations related to social, cultural, political, and technological issues. Through this lens, we will reflect on our individual and collective responsibilities when creating and sharing digital content.
