The course examines the world's great geographic realms and their human and physical contents. The focus is on pattern, area, distance, proximity, accessibility, isolation and clustering of spatial phenomena. Students will use maps and related tools to explore such topics as world population, global health, economic development, 21st-century globalization, and future environmental challenges.
