An overview of theatre history ranging from the ancient Greek Tragedians to modern Broadway and West End theatrical presentations. Emphasis will be placed on integral eras in theatre history including Greek, Elizabethan, Jacobean, French, and Asian Theatre, as well as the advent of musical theatre, post-modern realism, and anti-realism in American and British theatre. Theatrical processes and analysis of how productions are created and how they have impacted cultures regionally and globally will be examined.
