The information age had been heralded for its connectivity, diversity, and accessibility. But what began as a utopic promised land that could democratize media and data, turned out to be, at times, chaotic, dark, and misleading. As well discuss often in this class, misinformation was not born with the Internet and social media. Instead, it had been casting its shadow on individuals and societies from time immemorial. Misinformation often serves as the basis for our beliefs, attitudes, intentions, and behaviors, many of which resulting in deleterious influence.
