The aim of this course is to improve students¿ reasoning skills and help them become better critical thinkers. Students will learn fundamental principles of sound reasoning and hone their skills in constructing and evaluating logical arguments. Students will learn the basic components of logical arguments, characteristics that define good inferences, and common patterns of fallacious reasoning. Students will learn to recognize forms of good and bad reasoning in the wild and improve their ability to critically evaluate reasons offered in favor of or against competing viewpoints.
