You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students

This course will explore the music traditions of Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America, culminating in a research and writing project that focuses on a music culture of your choosing within this broad region. You will learn how to construct and develop a specific research question, find sources, take notes, develop an outline, write a 20-page paper, respond to feedback and criticism, and produce a finished paper that represents the best of your research and writing skills. This course is designed to help you produce a paper that could be used as a writing sample for grad school applications.
