Catalog Course Description

This course provides students with the expertise to design, implement, and maintain green spaces, emphasizing environmentally conscious landscaping practices. Topics include site protection and restoration, sustainable landscaping techniques, eco-friendly material and plant selection, efficient water management strategies, noise and light pollution reduction, and long-term maintenance of green spaces to promote ecological balance and sustainability.

Course Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

1. Identify and describe the key characteristics of a sustainable landscape using examples to support the analysis.
2. Explain and apply sustainable landscaping and ecological restoration techniques in a practical project.
3. Develop a sustainable landscaping plan that incorporates water conservationstrategies, including the use of drought-tolerant plants, efficient irrigation systems, and rainwater harvesting techniques, to enhance environmental sustainability and reduce water usage.
