This course provides a foundation for professional social work practice. It introduces students to historical, theoretical, and value bases of social work and presents a framework for integrated social work theory and practice that is grounded in social justice. Coursework includes learning and applying skills for professional communication and use of self in practice with individuals, families, groups, neighborhoods and organizations within a community context. Students who received credit for Ssw 620 cannot take this course.
