This required MSW course is an introduction to engagement and assessment in social work practice. This course will discuss the meaning of engagement and assessment in depth and reframe assessment as teaching-learning. This course seeks to inform students about the concept, processes, and skills of engagement and assessment in all practice contexts, including cultural-political, community, organizational, group, and interpersonal contexts. Co-requisites: Ssw 550 and Ssw 650. Students who received credit for Ssw 620 cannot take this course.
