This course provides methods of collaboration in PreK-12th grade special and general educational settings. All aspects of professional collaboration and the interface among general and special educators are highlighted. Relationships with related service providers as well as parents and external agency personnel are explored with the focus on PreK-12th grade students with exceptional needs in inclusive settings. Inclusive practices through evidence-based frameworks are selected with research-based instructional strategies to effectively co-teach in classrooms with students with diverse needs. There is a 15-hour field component is required for this course.
Prerequisites: (Graduate level ED 7001 Minimum Grade of B and Graduate level ED 7002 Minimum Grade of B and Graduate level ED 7003 Minimum Grade of B and Graduate level ED 7004 Minimum Grade of B and Graduate level ED 7005 Minimum Grade of B and Graduate level ED 7019 Minimum Grade of B and Graduate level ED 7020 Minimum Grade of B). Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate; Graduate Non-Matriculated. May not be enrolled as the following Classifications: Non-Degree
