This course explores how Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies can be strategically leveraged by organizations for improving business efficiency and profitability. This course draws upon the recent development of AI technologies and correlates them to the corresponding strategic applications for operations and policy decision making. This course will draw upon the domains of technology, business, policy, management to help students become strategic thinkers in leveraging AI. The course will combine lectures, case studies, group discussions, hands-on labs and projects, and guest speakers to provide students with a holistic understanding of AI's role in shaping business strategy. Students will also learn how to manage and protect the data and models that are a part of the AI development life cycle. Some of the technologies that will be covered in the course include, clustering, classification, deep learning, large language models, generative AI including deep fakes, ethics and responsible AI, and autonomous systems. Students are also exposed to emerging policy and legislation around AI systems as well as how these systems can be audited.
