In public and nonprofit organizations, people are constantly interacting with peers, managers, and stakeholders with different backgrounds and experiences. It is important to leverage this diversity to achieve the mission of the organization and ensure equity and fairness in the workplace. This course covers the concept of diversity, theoretical perspectives on diversity and inclusion, the benefits and challenges associated with diversity, and how to manage those differences to build the inclusive workplace and advance organizational performance. Cases and exercises will focus on practical applications of concepts, theories, and frameworks covered. Students who receive credit for R PAD 441 cannot receive credit for this course.
