Transitions to Professional Nursing Practice is an evidence- based course that introduces the philosophical, conceptual, and theoretical foundations for the development of professional roles and practices for baccalaureate nurses. Course content focuses on the application of recognized standards of practice and performance, emphasizing safety and quality improvement initiatives. The foundations of professional practice development include the impact of accountability, autonomy, and decision-making on diverse nursing roles. Interprofessional communication and collaboration, along with their connection to leadership, evidence-based practice, and the development of critical reasoning skills, are integrated throughout the course.
