The purpose of this course is to acquaint students with the legal structures that govern and regulate the cannabis industry in the State of New York and federally in the United States. Students will come to understand the nuanced differences between New York State medicinal cannabis and recreational cannabis policies and how they relate to the policies of other states and Federal Law. It will focus intently on the policies that govern the use of, possession, processing, distribution, and cultivation of cannabis with an emphasis on New York State cannabis policies.
