Musicals from then to now. The musical genre in film is a symphony of creativity, weaving music, dance and storytelling into the production. Explore how musical films have evolved over the past century and what this evolution tells us about film, history and culture. Students view a selection of films from the musical genre and sub-genre and learn to become active and critical viewers. Students also identify and develop an appreciation of the artistic elements of this genre and the relationship between film and other media.
