Proficiency as a clinical expert with a practice doctorate is the focus of this clinical course in population health across complex health care systems, specialized organizations, community agencies and national institutions. The acquisition of field knowledge is emphasized with specialized body of knowledge in the delivery of direct and indirect care to targeted groups of aggregate populations. Throughout this clinical experience, the DNP learner assumes the role of clinical expert and consultant and collaborates with health care professionals and practice experts to meet the needs of a defined population. This course is equivalent to 1cr theory and 3cr clinical; 80hrs/cr. or 240cl hrs. The preceptorship experience is supervised by a nurse practitioner or physician practicing in the specialty area of the program.
