You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students

In this course, we will look at how myths and folklore are adapted into modern manga and anime. This course will look at the traditional inspirations behind many popular anime/manga including Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and Noragami. Students will look to create cultural connections and broaden their understanding of these stories through a multimedia perspective. While evaluating these works we will use visual examples (anime), written examples (manga), and supporting articles to provide exemplified understanding. With this freshly developed background, we look to highlight the creation of the modern myth.
