You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students

This course introduces students to what an argument is and how to evaluate it. To do so, students will learn to construct logically sound arguments and will be broadly taught the theory of argumentation. The overarching goal of the course is to teach you to reason and think better, whatever your area of study. We will study the principles of formal logic as well as informal logic, helping you recognize the difference between fallacious and logically sound arguments. To test the skills learned during the course, we will analyze editorials, ordinary conversations, AI-generated material, as well as popular books written for an educated audience. One of the secondary goals of the course is to show you that human beings reason better than AI and why it is crucial to rely on your own intelligence rather than outsourcing that task.
