In recent decades rent in the US has risen faster than incomes, creating a problem for the working classes. Meanwhile, the quality of housing has degraded, with almost a quarter of homes in the US considered unhealthy or inadequate. Globally, the rise of slums has created populations at greater risk from environmental disasters. This course will look at the causes of the global housing crisis, who it affects, and what can be done.
