You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
This course is designed for teachers who would like to enhance student understanding by designing more effective curricula and assessments. Based on the Understanding by Design model created by Grant Wiggins and Jay McTighe, the course presents the theory of the six facets of understanding. Teachers will learn a set of design standards that will enable them to create more thoughtful lessons, units and authentic performance tasks. Participants will delve into a thorough discussion of what is meant by "understanding," and will utilize the "backward design" process to achieve it. (Formerly Understanding by Design)
