This course introduces students to the many ways anthropologists apply their skills beyond the classroom to address real-world issues and improve lives . Through guest speakers , case studies , and reflective exercises , students will explore careers in areas such as public health , UX research , community development , museums , nonprofits , business , and government . Emphasis is placed on identifying the transferable skills gained through anthropology , like cultural analysis , qualitative research , and ethical engagement , and how these skills contribute to social change and innovation . By the end of the seminar , students will be able to articulate potential career paths , connect with practicing anthropologists , and begin developing a personal plan for using anthropology to make a difference in society .
