Take your class online with SUNY
You will learn the same curriculum as our on-campus students
A workshop dedicated to the study, development, production, exhibition and distribution of films of deep personal significance to, and made largely unaided by, the student filmmaker. Students will experiment with a range of personal-filmmaking forms, including: essay, lyrical, epistolary, diary, dramatic and documentary. Students will be personally responsible for every aspect of each film, from conception and production to postproduction and exhibition/distribution. The class will organize one online screening event and/or one in-person screening event. Finally, students will plan a ‘micro-budgeted’ film for which the roles they have played in their personal films--writer, director, actor, producer, distributor--will form the basis.
