This elective course will develop candidates’ knowledge of fundamental mathematical ideas and effective pedagogical practices for Grades 5-9. Emphasis is on four mathematical ideas (number, function, data analysis and geometry), and how those ideas fit within the larger curriculum. Educational technologies for teaching these ideas will also be discussed.
