This course is an examination of healthcare in local, global, and cross-cultural contexts from a biocultural perspective. In this course, students will explore ways in which culture and inequalities create and shape access to healthcare as well as conceptions of health, illness, and the body. Topics will include infectious disease, diet, growth and development, and the impact of poverty and social inequality on health outcomes. Prerequisites: ENGL 100 or ENGL 200 or ANTH 100 (3:3,0)
