This is an introductory meteorology coursedesigned to conceptually explore the principlesand processes of weather. Students will study thefundamental principles of atmospheric structureand composition, radiation, and energy as theyrelate to the Earth-Atmosphere system, airtemperature, atmospheric moisture, and airpressure. The course investigates processes thatcause fog, clouds, and precipitation. Students areprovided a detailed study of wind and pressuresystems around the world, as well as middlelatitude and tropical weather phenomena, such asair masses, cyclones, tornadoes, and hurricanes.

AES 100L.
