This course focuses on the development,organization, and effectiveness of corrections.The legal rights of the probationer, the inmate,and the parolee are examined in detail, providingboth the student and practitioner the basis forunderstanding future developments in corrections.Observations are made as to the effectiveness ofmodern rehabilitation techniques, obstacles tocorrectional progress, and strategic errors madein correctional reform. Students are taught toperceive and articulate ethical issues incorrections.
Prerequisites:
CRJ 101 or permission of instructor.
