This course is an introduction to the C++language, which provides software developers withan "extendable" language in which abstract datatypes suitable for a given application can becreated and then used as naturally as built indata types. While based on the C programminglanguage, C++ provides data and functionencapsulation, function overloading, inheritance, strong typing, and other features needed forobject-oriented programming (OOP). This makes C++a true high level language suitable forprofessional software engineering. The languageconstructs and OOP methods are introduced with aseries of examples of increasing sophistication, which are the basis of project assignments.
