This course will introduce students to the toolsand competencies required to provide supports toindividuals and families accessing communityservices to meet basic and essential needs. Thecourse addresses the fundamental role of supportstaff and the basic skills needed to promotesuccess and ensure the linkage of individuals andfamilies to resources within the community. Itwill also provide students with the tools tocommunicate effectively with clients and HumanServices professionals to establish collaborativerelationships. Students will develop criticalthinking and problem-solving techniques using casestudy examples and employing strengths-based,person-centered theory.
