This course introduces students to the skills andcompetencies necessary for professional andethical conduct appropriate to career fields inHuman Services. The course addresses the emotionaland psychological stamina needed to work in theHuman Services field; examines the importance ofempathy when assisting individuals, children,families and people with disabilities in HumanServices settings; and provides students with thetools to communicate effectively with clients andother Human Service professionals. Students willdevelop critical thinking and problem-solvingskills using case study examples, and receivetraining in stress management and copingtechniques to promote wellness.
