Prerequisite: ITE 153 and ITE 213 with a minimum grade of C Information security has risen to a prominent place in the ever expanding information technology field. This course will cover major topics associated with a balance of system access and system security. It will provide students with an overview of security challenges and strategies of counter measures in the information systems environment. Topics covered in this course include understanding information security terminology, identifying network security vulnerabilities and understanding how malicious attacks, threats, and vulnerabilities impact an IT infrastructure. Cryptography and its use in the field of information security will enable students to understand system architecture in security operations.
