This advanced level course explores the complexities of abnormal psychology by integrating current research, theory, and clinical practice. Students will critically examine the etiology, assessment, and treatment of a broad range of psychological disorders through multiple lenses, including biological, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, and sociocultural perspectives. Emphasis is placed on differential diagnosis using the DSM, comorbidity, ethical dilemmas in treatment, and recent developments in the field. Students will engage with empirical literature, analyze case studies, and explore the experiences of individuals with mental health conditions. Important Notes:Do not enroll in this course and the introductory level of the same course title as there is significant redundancy in the content of courses. Do not enroll in this course if you have already taken PSYC 2020 Abnormal Psychology: Intro or PSYC 3010 Abnormal Psychology: Adv; this is the same course with a different title.
