The Advanced Public Health Informatics course focuses on the use of information, data, and technology, to provide learners with the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to build and sustain healthy communities and prevent disease and death. Students will learn how to use data standards, data analytics tools, databases, and information management systems, and apply them to advanced and complex issues and challenges in public health informatics. Discovery learning methodologies will be utilized to retrieve, interpret, appraise, and manage the growing corpus of public health data thereby enhancing students¿ understanding of how a variety of disciplines relate to the ever-changing field of public health informatics.
