This course will introduce students to the process of producing the 2020 Indeterminacy Festival event. From initial conception to final execution, students will have a hand in all aspects of the production. Topics will include: conception of thematic framework, formation of collaborations and partnerships, workshop/event creation, budgeting, fundraising, publicity, and logistics. Lectures will focus on large-scale event structure, strategies for building meaningful partnerships, bringing a project from concept to full-scale execution. Assignments will be focused on applying readings and research to field investigations, using the knowledge gained in class to build meaningful partnerships, eventually leading to workshop and event creation.
